In addition to the quilts documented by the Minnesota Quilt Project, Minnesota Quilts features quilts from the collections of the Minnesota Historical Society and other state historical societies. Each of the six chapters is written by a different local expert.

The beautiful floral applique quilts of the nineteenth century have long been admired and appreciated.
